I've been blogging for a little less than a year and from all the fangirling I do over the bigger and more established blog, I have come to understand that product reviews are an aspect blogging.

This month, I had the amazing opportunity to work with John Frieda (through Influenster Canada) in order to review one of their hair product lines. I was sent a box (VoxBox) of products to try out and review for the company.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Review | Le Northern Belle

The line that was sent to me came from the John Frieda Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery and included a repairing shampoo, conditioner and creme serum.

I was super excited to be getting the chance to try out these products. I am always on the hunt for a great hair product, however, often times, drug store hair brands don't work well with my hair. Therefore to get multiple perspectives of the product, I recruited my roommate and friend, Emily, to also help test out the product. Thanks Girl!

Alright, time get started on the review.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Review | Le Northern Belle

My hair is super dry, like all the time, plus I do put, what I think, is a little bit of heat on it. I straighten my hair about once every week, or two, and touch up with a straightener every now and then throughout the week. I can only imagine that putting heat on already super dry hair is the perfect combo for split ends (and I even use a heat protectant). So let's just say when I read the claims that the line was making, I had very high expectations.

I used this product for a month, washing my hair once a week. After the month was over, I did realize my hair felt softer after each wash, however, in between washes my hair felt dryer than usual (which I obviously didn't like).

I french braided Emily's hair so that it would be less tangled in the morning

Definitely not my best braiding work, but it got the job done!

Emily had a different experience than I did. Even though she used the product for less time than I did, she found that the products did make her hair feel smoother and softer. Emily naturally has wavy/curly hair, so I decided to straighten her hair to test the frizz control capabilities of the products. I'm pretty sure I may have a little bit too much of the serum on her hair before straightening because it did look a little bit greasy at certain angles. A little dry shampoo helped that out. (It takes a lot of products to make me hair look even remotely greasy, so I tend to forget that sometimes when doing other people's hair!) If you are using the serum, remember that a little bit goes a long way!

After straightening her hair, we had a birthday party at our house and throughout the night, surprisingly her hair stayed pretty much frizz-free. After asking Emily her thoughts on the products, she liked them and how smooth her hair felt. She would most likely recommend this line of products to another friend.

Special Thanks to Emily for allowing me to doll her up for this mini-photoshoot! To be honest, I don't think one would really complain. Now if only someone would do my hair and make-up for me!

Also, thank you to John Frieda Influenster Canada for sending me these products! All the products mentioned in this post were received complimentary for testing purposes.

I love to read comments from readers! They really make my day and I will respond back to you, so I can help make your day great too!
